Caliente Salsa and Bachata Student Spotlight - Chloe

Today, let us introduce to you one of our Salsa and Bachata dancer who is in both Solo and Partner dance šŸ˜ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„

Meet the lovely Chloe!

How did you get into learning Salsa and Bachata dance in Singapore?

I was actually just looking for a fun sport to join and work out all the extra calories I was gaining from the stress of life amidst this pandemic. I thought "hey why not try out some dance classes?" as it was something I've never really attempted in my life. The idea did seem intimidating at first, as I did not have any prior dance experience, but it's seriously the best decision ever! I'm so glad there were trial classes that were at an affordable rate that just compelled me to just take the first leap. Then I stayed for the wonderful community in here... and the rest is history haha

What is your favourite dance class and why?

Oh this one is tough since I've enjoyed all the classes that I've taken so far. If I had to choose I think the solo Bachata class has to be the one that's great for beginners and just really easy going in general. Seriously though, everyone should try a lil bit of all the classes. They have different flavors, but all are fun and guaranteed to make you sweat!

What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa and Bachata?

I can't say much about other types of dances but I just love the blend of the dance moves and music choice in Latin dancing, there is just something so hypnotic and fun about it. This is especially so when doing partner dance, it's like a conversation with no need for words exchanged, pretty cool to experience.

What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa and Bachata?

So many reasons, it's enjoyable, a nice challenge, both a mental and physical workout, great for making new friends and stress free! If you happen to be even a little curious about it, just start, and take it all the way as far as you can go, because it's a fun process.

Which Salsa or Bachata song do you like the most?

La vida es un carnaval by Celia Cruz
