Today, let us introduce to you one of our Salsa and Bachata dancer šā¤ļøāš„
Meet fitness bunny Siti!
How did you get into learning Salsa and Bachata dance in Singapore?
While I was working on a cruise in Orlando Florida I did some social dancing with my Latino colleauges and was head over heels in LOVE. The idea of learning Latin Dance have always been bouncing in my head ever since.
Fast forward years later to COVID period which causes hullabaloo to my fitness lifestyle, and stripped me away from my obstacles racing love. Just doing my gym, fitness activities or MMA is not enough to fill that void of euphoria. Another form of pursuit is imperative so coming across Caliente Dance Studio on FB is an epiphany. Ecstacy washed over as I took a trip down memory lane back to my Latin Dance days. Salsa and Bachata will be my much needed remedy for my FOMO.
What is your favourite dance class and why?
Honestly I have NO favourites as I'm on cloud 9 just getting to do dance and learn. Right now I'm doing my Solo Advance and Bachata is proving to be more and more challenging so theoretically anything that keeps me on my toes gives me more thrill.
What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa and Bachata?
I'm going just lay my cards on the table here. Having that "SHIOK SENDIRI" time. Being a fitness advocate of fun "suffering" activities, I showcase a "tough" persona in general. Doing Salsa & Bachata is just my balance for my feminine fire of that "sexy" "exquisite" hidden self. š š¤£ š š š Definitely gives me a cognitive workout too. Having to coordinates hands, hips and legs with all the technicalities and skills "spot on" to the choreography.
What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa and Bachata?
This is just a FEELS GOOD form of fitness so full of spice for anyone and everyone.
TOTALLY therapeutic as it's like giving your soul the vitamins and nutrition it needs.
If you want to burn calories in a finesse way this will be your repertoire.
Don't fret if you have no buddy to join you on this journey, just take a leap of FAITH and you will build new bonds and friendship in the Caliente familia. For me, Latin music is also a strong reason why I like Salsa and Bachata. Salsa music is fun, and Bachata music is more relaxing and enjoyable.
Which Salsa or Bachata song do you like the most?
I'm still going through the playlists but so far I'm vibing to:
Salsa - Abre Que Voy by Miguel Enriquez
Bachata - Te RobarƩ by Prince Royce
I have them in repeat mode and listen to them in my train rides doing a visual mental rehearsal.
Caliente Team.
