Today, let us introduce to you one of our Salsa and Bachata social dancer šā¤ļøāš„
Meet Vanessa
Tell us a little about yourself!
Hi there! You may have seen me around dancing or heard me laughing randomly in class before :) A former bunhead and have recently been Latin dance obsessed.
How did you get into learning Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk dance in Singapore?
I never thought Iād pick up any of these styles. It has been 7 years since I quit ballet and was itching to actively dance again but couldnāt go back the same way. Then Caliente Dance Studio showed up on IG and by freak coincidence, I found out the studio was directly opposite my mumās office - on the same floor. Knowing little to nothing about the Salsa and Bachata latin dance style, I took it as a sign and went full throttle.
What is your favourite dance class and why?
My favourite would have to be solo Bachata shines. I love the more lyrical quality of Bachata music and the freedom of just moving in my own range and style.
What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
Dancing used to be painful and stressful before and now itās my form of relaxation and rest. It helps that my dance steps are remembered for me most of the time too!
What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
You get the best workout from dancing, and get to connect with really passionate and fun people in the dance community at the same time.
Which Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk song do you like the most?
La Gozadera - Gente de Zona
Caliente Team.
