Meet Zhi Xiang!
Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Zhi Xiang. Most people will know me as Zack, which is easier to remember.
How did you get into learning Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk dance in Singapore?
Friends who were almost half my age encouraged me to try Salsa and Bachata dance during my part-time degree days. I took a latin dance class to try and been a blast ever since. Dance classes has become like a regular exercise routine for me now.
What is your favourite dance class and why?
Bachata! I feel that there is more space and time to enjoy the music and play with the rhythm.
What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
Freedom. When we are social dancing, it is easy to just go with the music, and not think about what to do next. Amidst the roar of music that's being blasted, there is serenity when focusing only on the dance and your dance partner.
What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
There is never a better time than now to pick up something new. It may seem daunting when looking at how the seasoned dancers dance, but Rome was not built in a day either. You get to meet and connect with new people, while picking up a hobby that keeps you fit and active. Plus, this is another way to enjoy our most beloved playlists! Salsa and Bachata remixes of pop songs are quite common these days.
