Meet Hugo!
Tell us a little about yourself!
Hi, my name is Hugo. I am from Mexico and have been living in Singapore for the last 7 years. Despite dancing being part of the culture in Mexico, I have never learned how to dance before!
How did you get into learning Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk dance in Singapore?
As many, I started dancing during the pandemic after one of my friends invited me and my partner, Florence, to a Bachata trial class. We tried Bachata and Salsa level 1 dance class before deciding to continue with Salsa.
What is your favourite dance class and why?
Salsa partner dance FTW! I love the music and find the non-verbal communication between the partner to make the steps happen very cool: if you are leading and don't hint the step, well, nothing will happen :P
What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
That it is fun! Also, the challenge to follow all the steps and turns taught in class. It looks so easy when the teachers are performing!š
What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
Try something new! It is fun and you get to know cool people on the process, what other reason you need!?
