Caliente Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Zouk Student Spotlight - Khalis

Today, let us introduce to you one of our Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and Zouk partner social dance studentšŸ„°ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„

Meet Khalis!

Tell us a little about yourself!

I'm Khalis Hidayatul Ain. I've always loved dancing. I grew up dancing at family weddings and did many different genres of dance in school. With dance you can express so much and I think that's beautiful.

How did you get into learning Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk dance in Singapore?

I did ballroom dancing in poly for a while, and that kinda died down when I started working. But when I was in Spain in 2017, I saw a flamenco performance and that kinda rekindled my itch to dance again. My friend Aishah then motivated me to go for solo dance classes with her, and that's when I signed up with Caliente Dance Studio and started learning how to dance Salsa and Bachata solo shines. After a couple of months, we dared ourselves to try the partner dance classes, and it was the best decision ever.

We have met so many new friends who were patient with us and who are so fun to hang out with.

What is your favourite dance class and why?

Having learned Bachata, Salsa, Kizomba, and Zouk at Caliente Dance Studio - what I love about the classes is really the chance to nail the choreographies, but all I can say is just enjoy the classes.

What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?

The best part about the class is definitely the demo by the instructors and the advice I get about how to improve. Always appreciate their motivation and constructive feedback.

What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?

If you have three left feet and wanna learn how to dance or you just want to pick up a few dance moves, Caliente is definitely a good place to start for dancing. The friends you make will be awesome - that I can assure you -else, come find me šŸ˜

Which Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk song do you like the most?

I'm a Bachata girl for sure! There are 2 Bachata dance couple that I admire, and that's Daniel y Tom as well as Gatica y Melvin. My all-time favourite Bachata song is La Bachata by Manuel Turizo šŸ˜¬ but I have an entire list of songs that I'd groove to and that I'd love to share - just ask ā˜ŗļø
