Today, let us introduce to you one of our Salsa, Bachata solo shines dancer šā¤ļøāš„
Meet Sasha!
Tell us a little about yourself!
Hello! My name is Sasha, Iām 26 and have been dancing with Caliente Dance Studio for about ten months now. Iām really big on learning, collecting meaningful life experiences, and hanging out with awesome people (and/or dogs!)
I used to do ballet classes when I was really young, and then basically stopped dancing altogetherā¦ until this past year!
How did you get into learning Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk dance in Singapore?
I had decided to just start trying all the things Iāve ever wanted to - thereāll never be a ārightā time if you wait! So I went for Salsa and Bachata dance trial classes (they were with Robin and Rosanna!) I ended up signing up for dance classes with my sister and it became a fun bonding experience for us as well. :)
What is your favourite dance class and why?
Iām really enjoying Level 3 Solo Salsa classes - it takes a lot of concentration and also really trusting your own body. I always leave class feeling strong and happy (thanks endorphins!)
What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
I love all kinds of music, and I feel like dancing is the most immersive way of engaging with it. Itās also amazing to come to class and be around people who share the same interests, all just having fun and learning something new together.
What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
Besides the wonderful effects of endorphins, learning how to dance also works your mind and body in different ways from what many of us are currently experiencing in our day-to-day lives. Not to mention the confidence, fun, and feelings of empowerment it can bring if you open your heart to it!
Which Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk song do you like the most?
La Bachata by Manuel Turizo
Caliente Team.
